Adam is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been passionately seeking to help individuals and families overcome the impact and lasting effects of trauma in the mental health setting following his graduation in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Idaho State University.
While working with the Native American clients in a mental health center on a Reservation, he completed a Master’s degree in Social Work from Walla Walla University and began working as a psychotherapist in Pocatello and Soda Springs, ID treating a wide variety of mental health concerns in a community setting. He was certified through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA.ORG) as having completed basic training of 50 hours in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) under Dr. Phil Manfied and Colleen West, MFT in 2015 as a treatment for trauma and continues to work toward advanced certifications.
Adam specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociative disorders, and also has significant experience assisting people with bi-polar disorder, as well as many other common mental health concerns.
He uses a wide variety of theoretical approaches in this treatment including: trauma theory, systems theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, Adlerian therapy, Gestalt therapy, insight-oriented and somatic based therapies, and mindfulness and meditation. He enjoys Tai Chi, meditation, energy balancing and grounding, reading, and spending time in nature with his family as well as being active spiritually advocating for (w)holistic health.
