These groups are designed for those diagnosed with PTSD, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders because of unresolved trauma. Groups provide a safe place to share your own experiences without judgment, learn recovery skills to be empowered to heal.


PTSD is a disorder that some people develop after experiencing a shocking, scary, or dangerous event. Those who continue to experience problems after the event(s) may feel stressed or frightened even when they are no longer in danger.


Tuesday 3:00 – 5:00 pm

This group focuses on all forms of grief, and how anger is a part of the process, it will help you tolerate & survive trauma.

You will learn to develop specific coping skills that will support your well-being, help you meet life’s challenges, and to find relief in difficult times. Learn how to tap into your internal capacities such as the ability to express your emotions, process loss and to be in tune with your body, stay grounded especially in dealing with anger and grief. Anger is a signal that your needs are not getting met. You will embrace change by practicing and accepting change

This group’s format is large and small group processing, and education.

These two Tuesday therapy groups are facilitated by:

1. Dr. Fran Acoba, psychologist, and co-facilitated by Kristin Cox; Peer Support Specialist

2. Adam Nickell, Licensed Clinical Social Worker trained in EMDR



Thursday 4:00 – 6:00 pm – Facilitated by Dr. Fran Acoba, and co-facilitated by Kristin Cox; Peer Support Specialist

This group involves post-trauma recovery and growth through processing and education. Learn new and effective coping skills for regulation of emotions and impulses, self-care, grounding techniques, and practicing resiliency. This therapy will include processing, workbook education, small & large group discussion in a safe and nurturing environment.



  • Does insurance cover this therapy? Yes, most insurance cover group therapy including Medicaid & Medicare.
  • Can I still see my regular counselor? Yes, just not on the same day at the groups.
  • Do I need to be a client of Pearl Health Clinic? No, you can just come for the group(s).
